Birthday party invitations

Hi!

Today I’m sharing some birthday party invitations I made for my nephew’s birthday. In fact my nephew’s birthday is in December, but I know that by that time I will be more in the mood of Christmas cards and decorations, so I’ve decided to make them now. I had to make ten invitations and after making them I think I didn’t choose an easily reproducible design.

“Come to my party! When _________ Where________ Don’t miss it!”

The cards are 4” x 3”. I used Mama Elephant “Peek a frame” dies to die cut the panels: 10 from Bristol paper (where I stamped and colored the images) and 10 from white cardstock (where I stamped the message). First, I stamped the messages using Lawn Fawn “Harold’s ABC” stamps. I used my MISTI, which is the perfect tool for mass producing cards.

Next, I stamped the super cute images from Neat and Tangled “Prehistoric” stamp set on the Bristol panels using Versafine Onyx black ink. It involved a lot of masking. Again, the MISTI was a time saver! Then, I blended Tumbled Glass for the sky and Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress inks for the ground. I thought the scene was a little bit plane, so I decided to stamp the mountains from Lawn Fawn “Dad + me” stamp set. As I had previously blended the blue ink for the sky, I used a white gel pen to color the tops of the mountains. After that, I colored all the stamped images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

I made the envelopes with the WRMK envelope punch board, using Lawn Fawn “Let’s Polka in the Dark” papers. On the front of the envelopes I stamped the recipient’s name using La Vida en Scrap “Escríbeme” stamp set and the little cavegirl, and on the back side I stamped a message that means “Telmo’s birthday party is going to be dinomite” using the same Lawn Fawn stamp set than before. For the green envelopes, I stamped everything with white pigment ink and once it was dried I traced everything with a golden gel pen. It was time consuming, but I love the result.

I plan to make a cute box to give these to my sister. And I’m thinking on making some birthday party decorations too!!

I’m entering this project into Little Tangles Challenge #83: Birthday

and into Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday

I hope you like this project! Thanks for stopping by!!
