Today we’re celebrating father’s day in Spain and I want to show you the card I made for my dad. I used the new Lawn Fawn “Beam me up” stamp set and coordinating dies. This is my favorite of their last release. I love the aliens!!
For this card I didn’t use any coloring medium because I thought the aliens would look nice paper pieced. So I stamped the images on Lawn Fawn patterned paper (“Let’s polka in the meadow” collection) with Memento Tuxedo black ink and fussy cut them. As I knew I wanted a dark background, I used coordinating “Beam me up” dies on white cardstock and glued the images to the die cut pieces to have a white border on my images. I used a silver gel pen to color the flag and the edge of the ovnis and a red pen for the ovnis’ lights and for the little heart on the flag.
For the background, I die cut a piece of patterned paper (Lawn Fawn “Beachside” collection) using Mama Elephant “Peek a frame” dies. For making the hill of the aliens’ planet, I used Lawn Fawn “Stitched ovals” dies and again the same Mama Elephant die to have the stitching detail. I used red because I was thinking about Mars 🙂 Next, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it on white. The first line of the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn “Dad + Me” stamp set. Once I had this stamp set out, I thought the mustache will look great on the big alien, so I went ahead and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
Next, I glued the background panel to a card base and added the red hill. I glued the big alien and the small ovni, and used an action wobble for the big ovni. Last, I added the googly eyes to the bigger alien, some Glossy Accents to the lights and the dome of the little ovni, some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the eyes of the smaller alien and a scatter of die cut stars.
I hope you like my card!! Thanks for stopping by!
This is my second post today!!
I want to share a Father’s day card I made for my dad. In Spain Father’s day is on the 19th of March, but we couldn’t meet him until yesterday, so he had to wait for his card 🙂
For this project I used Lawn Fawn “Dad+me” stamp set. It’s sooooo sweet!!! I really love it.
First I stamped the bears with Versafine onyx black ink on Bristol paper and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut them. Then, I die cut the mountains with Lawn Fawn “Stitched mountain borders” dies and the hillside with “Stitched hillside borders” dies. In this last die cut piece I stamped the lake with Lawn Fawn Mermaid ink and then I stamped it again with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, I inked the hills and the mountains with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress inks, respectively, and the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. Then, I stamped the sentiment using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.
Last, I die cut the frame from kraft cardstock using Mama Elephant “Madison Avenue” dies and adhered everything together and to the card base. As you can see, I also decorate a tiny bit the envelope using the small stamps in the set.
I hope you like it! Have a nice day!
