Cat portrait card

Hola!!

Today I’m sharing a card featuring Mama Elephant “Favor Bag Accessory – Cat” dies. If you have read my blog before, you know I’m a cat person and that I love anything with cats on it. I made this card for some friends who love cats as well, so I tried to make a portrait of their cat Mia.

I partial die cut the cat shape, because I wanted it to be longer, not just the cat head but also her neck. I die cut all the pieces from Canson Mi-Teintes cardstock because I love the colors and the texture it has, and I think is perfect for adding something to this cat! The bow is from Mama Elephant “All Prettied Up” dies. At this moment it has repositionable glue 🙂

I can’t decide where to glue the bow!

I use Lawn Fawn “Stitched Ovals” to die cut the background panel shape and I stamped a pattern using Waffle Flower “Pattern Play” stamps and Versacraft mint ink. Once I had stamped the panel, I thought the color was too bright so I die cut a vellum oval with the same die to make the color softer. I glued the edge of the vellum piece to the pattern piece and then I adhered the red frame I made nesting to oval dies. Last, I spelled the cat’s name using Neat and Tangled “Journaling Alphas” dies.

So, what do you think? Do you prefer the cat in a bow tie or with the bow on her ear?

I hope you like this project. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
